Nexen Tire Wins Red Dot Design Award 2024

Tire

International. Nexen Tire announced that its N'fera Sport S tires won the top prize in the product design category of Germany's Red Dot Design Award 2024.

The Red Dot Design Award is an internationally recognized design competition organized by the Design Zentrium Nordhein Westfalen in Germany. It is considered one of the three most important design awards worldwide, along with the IDEA Design Awards in the United States and the iF Design Awards in Germany.

N'FERA SPORT S is a premium, high-performance tire designed for dynamic high-speed driving, with exceptional durability, handling and braking performance, said NEXEN TIRE.

The design is optimised to achieve a balance of performance between dry and wet road surfaces using 3+1 grooves (thick vertical grooves on tyre surfaces) to prevent aquaplaning and maximise grip on dry road surfaces.

In addition, for nimble handling, shoulder stiffness was improved on the outside where load and terrain are concentrated, and high-speed steering was improved through the use of a wide center block, according to NEXEN TIRE. A groove chamfer was used in the driving direction (tire block corner slip design) to reduce abnormal wear and improve wet performance.

The use of multiple left and right treads improves high-speed durability and braking performance while providing stable handling at high speed. Such driving performance was validated through rigorous testing at the Nürburgring, Germany, a notoriously difficult driving circuit, NEXEN TIRE said.

Meanwhile, the HN Replacement brand was printed on the sidewall, representing the only Korean tire company to obtain replacement tire technology certification exclusively for the Hyundai N brand.

"We are thrilled to have won one of the three most important design awards in the world, demonstrating the competitiveness of NEXEN Tire's design," said a representative of NEXEN Tire. "We will continue to increase brand value through NEXEN Tire's unique design."
