CALA

Latin America. Until January 28, the call is open for professionals from mechanical workshops in Latin America, the Caribbean and South Florida to apply for the CALA Awards, whose awards will take place at AutoAméricas.

What makes your workshop unique?
According to Andrea Ochoa, project leader of the CALA Awards, "We are interested in knowing the uniqueness of the workshops. At CALA Awards, we recognize dedication and innovation in the automotive industry. We invite all passionate shops and mechanics to apply and share their stories of excellence. Each workshop has a unique narrative, and we want to highlight outstanding achievements that contribute to advancement and sustainability. Go ahead and apply and be part of the celebration of excellence in the world of auto repair shops in Latin America, the Caribbean and South Florida! This is the time to share your story and highlight your accomplishments in one or more of the established categories."

It is worth noting that the award ceremony will take place on Friday, March 24, 2024, during the Autoaméricas fair. From 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the finalists will be announced and the winner of the CALA Awards for Best Mechanical Workshop will be revealed.

Evaluation of nominations:
To ensure a fair and accurate assessment, Aftermarket magazine has considered a panel of judges who are experts in the automotive industry, sustainability, marketing, and employee training. This panel will review each nomination thoroughly using rigorous criteria. The judges will select the three finalists, and the winner will be announced at Autoamericas, Expo and Congress for the Auto Parts Market of South Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America, on March 7 and 8, 2024, at the MACC - Miami Airport Convention Center.

In the evaluation of the Best Management Practices, a thorough analysis of the facilities, the technology used and the brands of machinery used will be carried out. Special attention will be paid to the ecological practices implemented, evaluating the results obtained through efficient resource management, the adoption of better repair practices, energy savings and excellence in waste management.

Regarding Marketing for Promotion, a detailed evaluation of the effectiveness of the marketing strategies implemented will be carried out. Tangible aspects such as customer growth, brand recognition, and online engagement will be measured. Emphasis will be placed on concrete results, such as increased website traffic and return on investment (ROI) of marketing projects.

The Training of Technicians and Employees will be another focus of evaluation, examining the periodicity of training, the evaluation of technical skills and the availability of facilities with training rooms. In addition, the percentage of improvement in productivity and reduction in delivery times will be measured.
