Mexico. The company WEG announced the investment of 40 million dollars in the acquisition of a land of 640,000 square meters in the city of Atotonilco de Tula, Hidalgo, with the intention of ensuring continuous and sustainable long-term growth in the country.
This land is located in front of the largest plant they have in Mexico, and it is planned that in the future this will be the land for the expansion of the company.
"This investment is critical to support WEG's growth in the future, as it strengthens our position for the company's product portfolio," explained Luis Rodrigues, WEG's CFO.
"In addition, with this investment we will be able to continue growing, both in production capacity and in the vertizalization of operations, following our modular expansion strategy," said Rodrigues.
The company has been present in the country since 2000, has five plants: two in Huehuetoca, which produce electric motors and transformers; one in Tizayuca, specialized in the manufacture of transformers; two in Atotonilco de Tula, where the company is engaged in the manufacture of electric motors, electrical panels and industrial powder coatings.
The company currently has 4,000 employees.
