Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City had record number of exhibitors

Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City

International. The fifth edition of Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City, held between June 23 and 25 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (Vietnam), had a record 461 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions.

In the 15,740 square meters of this center, the latest products, services and technologies of the automotive industry were presented. The significant increase in share reflects the industry's confidence in the Vietnamese market as the country emerges as an attractive destination for supply chain diversification.

Messe Frankfurt (HK) General Manager Fiona Chiew said: "Since Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City debuted in Vietnam, the country has become one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia. From its continued urbanization, the local automotive industry is in a position to jump into a new era, where electric vehicle development, digitalization, automotive manufacturing and automation are creating many opportunities in the supply chain."

"These trends will seep into every aspect of the show, whether it's exhibitions, conferences or training topics." Added.

As always, the exhibition provided a gateway for international trade and exchange, facilitating both technological advancement and business development in the country.

For example, exhibitors revealed some of the latest products, services, technologies and solutions in parts and components, accessories and customization, diagnostics and repair, electric vehicles, and automotive manufacturing and automation.

The lineup consisted of national conglomerates and industry leaders from countries and regions such as Australia, Egypt, France, Japan, Lithuania, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and more. They were joined by companies in pavilions in nine countries and regions of China, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Germany, Taiwan and Thailand with the aim of expanding their business in the local market.

Key players included Dielektrik UAB, EXEDY, Launch, Liqui Moly, OBD Vietnam/Autel, SAMPA, TecAlliance, Yon Ming and ZF.

Chiew also noted, "We have designed a program that targets both entrepreneurs and consumers through two event streams. On the one hand, our conferences and training workshops aim to create a dialogue around the transformation of the industry with a key focus on the exchange of information and technical knowledge. Meanwhile, a mix of activities in AutoFest@HCMC blurs the lines between automotive culture, networking and the everyday market in the exhibition environment."

The Automotive Manufacturing, Transformation and Automation Congress, held on June 23, examined the government's goal of increasing local production and procurement to strengthen Vietnam's position on the world stage. Speakers included representatives from ABB, Bosch Global Software Technologies, Bosch Rexroth, Datacolor, Digital Strategy Lab, IBM and Vietsol, to name a few.

Together, the experts analyzed IBM's domestic automotive supply chain, smart factories, electric vehicle manufacturing solutions and digital solutions.

The following day saw the business networking event on digitalization and electrification, where representatives from VINSO global, IBM, TecAlliance Asia Pacific and VINAI explored Vietnam's mobility and electric vehicle model, digitalization in production, connectivity and autonomous driving in Asia.

In addition, Magic Cube, a highly influential platform in China focused on educating and connecting the aftermarket, shared case studies from the country on how Vietnam can implement new business models for e-commerce in the aftermarket supply chain.

Finally, on the last day there was the Car Service and Maintenance Workshop. In this, a team of specialists from OTOHUI and other accredited training centers guided mechanics, technicians and workshop owners through practical topics on workshop management and diagnosis of electric and hybrid vehicles. Participants received an accredited certification to endorse their service center or workshop upon completion of the two-day course.
