INA and PADF renew collaboration agreement

Acuerdo INA

Latin America. The agreement aims to promote actions that contribute to compliance with the different provisions of the 2019 Labor Reform and the USMCA.

The Pan American Development Foundation (PADF ) and the National Auto Parts Industry (INA) renewed a collaboration agreement during the XX International Congress of the Automotive Industry in Mexico (CIIAM). This aims to promote actions that contribute to the efficient compliance with the different provisions within the framework of the 2019 Labor Reform.

Francisco N. González Díaz, executive president of INA; Alberto Bustamante, general director of the INA; and Edgar Lee, deputy director of Project at PADF, signed the aforementioned agreement within the project "Promoting the Participation of Employers in the Implementation of the Mexican Labor Reform and Chapter 23 of the USMCA."

The signing was also attended by Esteban Martínez Mejía, head of the Liaison Unit for the Reform of the Labor Justice System, who served as a witness to the renewal and emphasized the importance of training the automotive industry on labor rights issues.

In this regard, the representatives of PADF in Mexico pointed out that the bipartite agreement has two purposes. One of them is to promote the generation, collection, homologation, consultation and exchange of information related to compliance with labor rights.

On the other hand, it must contribute to the business chambers with research and training activities for employers in labor matters, mainly on the issues of union democracy, legitimization of collective agreements, prevention of gender violence and discrimination in the workplace.

Francisco González added that there have been numerous advances that the automotive sector has had in the implementation of the labor reform, which have managed to place the sector as a benchmark for compliance.
In addition, González reiterated the INA's commitment to facilitate companies, through key alliances such as this one, access to training, accompaniment and professionalization processes for their employees that allow them to face the structural changes that the labor reform has implied.

In turn, Alberto Bustamante highlighted the main results obtained in the first year of the alliance with PADF, among which a first mapping on the distribution of the industry at the national level and the generation of a diagnosis on the current conditions of the automotive industry in terms of labor compliance, which is based on the design of training with a focus on continuous improvement for the industry.
