Cooper Standard announced that it has won an Automotive Innovation Award from the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE) for its BEV (battery electric vehicle) Thermoplastic Thermal Management Solution supplied to the 2023 General Motors Cadillac Lyriq.
Cooper Standard was recognized during the 51st annual Automotive Innovation Awards Gala, held Nov. 2 in Livonia, Michigan. The event is the oldest and largest recognition event (established in 1970) in the automotive and plastics industries.

Cooper Standard's thermoplastic BEV thermal management solution was awarded in the materials category. The solution involves two developments that provide a lightweight thermoplastic solution for BEV thermal management systems, according to the company.
SPE's Automotive Innovation Awards program honors the best companies in automotive plastics. The category and Grand Prize winners were selected from a pool of finalists by a group of retired journalists, academics and chief industry engineers.
