INA: Impact of North American semiconductor shortage reduced in 2022

Latin America. The Association also forecast auto parts production of $106.42 billion in Mexico this year.

At a press conference, the National Auto Parts Industry (INA) reported that the impact of the impact of semiconductors in North America was reduced to 4.1%.

That is, according to the INA, of a total of 14.5 million vehicles produced in 2022, only 586,416 were affected.

These figures show a considerable reduction with respect to the 2,459,964 units affected in 2021 in that region.

Also, according to INA forecasts, in 2022 Mexico will reach an auto parts production of 106,420 million dollars.

This represents an increase of 12.4% compared to 2021, higher than the figures obtained before the health contingency.

XX International Congress of the Automotive Industry of Mexico

On the other hand, the INA presented the details of the XX International Congress of the Automotive Industry of Mexico (CIIAM), which will take place on November 17 and 18, 2022 at the Hacienda de Los Morales, in Mexico City.

The event will bring together more than 250 leaders of the automotive and auto parts industry, as well as government and academic authorities from Mexico and abroad, in order to evaluate the challenges and opportunities facing the sector in these times, as well as exchange knowledge, experiences and good practices.

The meeting will feature a program of more than 30 conferences that will address perspectives in the workplace before the USMCA, new technological trends in the industry and the future of electromobility, among other topics.

These conferences will be given by high-level officials, such as the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare, Luisa María Alcalde, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, and authorities of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of Mexico (Concamin) and the Employers' Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex).
