The Technology Council (ATC) of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) announced Dorman Products as the 2022 winner of the ATC Technology Innovation Award during the 2022 AASA Technology Conference. Michael Donofrio, director of digital expertise at Dorman Products, accepted the award.
Donofrio explained the live local inventory based on the company's website during the ATC fall meeting. Dorman's "Where to Buy" platform saves website users time and effort, as consumers typically need a part quickly and, in most cases, the same day.
Dorman worked closely with Epicor Software to develop, integrate and launch their local/live inventory application.
Three other finalists for the award presented their recently developed technological applications: Content Status, JNPSoft and True Pedigree.
"We are excited about the quantity and quality of the award applicants, and were especially impressed with the finalists' submissions and the technologies presented," said Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems Sales Operations Director Marylou Hornung.
"Dorman's use of Epicor's technology to present live inventory that is available online is very impressive and highly deserving of this year's award."
Previous winners of the ATC Technology Innovation Award include:
2021 – VizSeek for its visual searches of pieces
2020 – OptiCat for its automated loading sheets
Applications for next year's award will be available in early 2023 at aftermarketsuppliers.org. Eligible companies must provide technology solutions that address one of ATC's focus areas.
