Industry Organizations Show Support for Victims of Hurricane Ian

Huracán cerca a Florida

International. AACF and CIF are currently accepting donations to help industry members in need.

Two major industry organizations have announced their intention to support those in need in the wake of Hurricane Ian, which recently devastated parts of Florida and South Carolina.

The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) is making preparations to help aftermarket families affected by Hurricane Ian.

"It's very early in the process, but our intention is to explore all avenues to identify aftermarket families who need our help during this natural disaster," said AACF President Larry Magee.

Collision repair professionals who need it can contact the Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) for disaster relief assistance.

CIF is a non-profit organization that has worked for more than 20 years to help people linked to the post-disaster collision industry.

Most recently, CIF provided its industry colleagues with $275,000 in COVID-19 relief and helped Bryan Miller, an Ohio technician and painter whose body suffered severe burns in a store fire.

The CIF also helped many victims of Hurricanes Katrina, Michael, Florence, Harvey, Laura and victims of wildfires in Paradise, CA.

Earlier last week, CIF posted a reminder on its Facebook and LinkedIn pages that they are available to help: "CIF is here to help collision repair professionals who suffered significant losses during recent natural disasters, such as damage caused by Hurricane Ian."

CIF also has a regular outreach procedure, asking donors and supporters to be "boots on the ground" to help identify people in need.
