VOXX Automotive and ESS sign agreement for the incorporation of H.E.L.P. in all vehicles

International. This protocol revolutionizes hazard warning systems to prevent collisions with vulnerable vehicles and their occupants.

VOXX Automotive Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of VOXX International Corporation, announced its partnership with Emergency Safety Solutions, Inc. (ESS), creator of the Hazard Enhanced Location Protocol. From this partnership, intelligent emergency communications will be available to virtually all passengers and commercial vehicles on the road.

"VOXX Automotive is proud to partner with Emergency Safety Solutions to help bring its H.E.L.P. system to market. Currently, there are more than 280 million vehicles on U.S. roads that would benefit from the incorporation of this life-saving technology, presenting an incredible opportunity for road safety," said VOXX International Corporation President and CEO Pat Lavelle.

"The interface of the improved factory hazard lights and GPS-based digital alert technology is state-of-the-art. Our goal is to greatly reduce these preventable incidents, related injuries and deaths. This really is a game-changer to help us achieve that goal," Lavelle added.

The agreement expands the availability of life-saving H.E.L.P. technology, including manufacturing and distributing solutions to automakers, Tier 1 suppliers, aftermarkets, trucks and motorsports to help prevent collisions with all vulnerable vehicles on the road.

H.E.L.P. is a regulatory-compliant safety communication solution that provides multiple layers of enhanced protection for damaged vehicles, their occupants and other road users. This includes:

H.E.L.P. Digital Alerts: Notifications sent to oncoming drivers via in-vehicle displays and GPS navigation apps to provide advance warning when approaching a broken down vehicle.

H.E.L.P. Lighting Alerts: Scientifically improved and dramatically improved hazard flash pattern that has been shown to indicate urgency to oncoming drivers, prompting them to slow down and move.

Intelligent controls: H.E.L.P. automatically deploys when conditions indicate a safety need, such as a collision, tire blowout, transmission line failure or takeover due to driver inattention (autonomous driving application). Drivers can also activate H.E.L.P. manually when the hazard signal is activated and the vehicle is parked.

Under the agreement, VOXX Automotive will design and manufacture OEM accessories and aftermarket kits with these products for sale in all VOXX Automotive and ESS sales channels. The scope of the agreement also includes H.E.L.P. DeliverSAFETM, a specialized version of H.E.L.P. tailored to the needs of commercial, heavy-duty and long-haul delivery vehicles.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with VOXX Automotive to bring the benefits of H.E.L.P. to millions of motorists, commercial drivers and fleet owners who would not otherwise have this option," said ESS Founder, President and President David Tucker.

"More than 40 people per day in the U.S. do not return home every day because of these preventable accidents. This partnership will significantly accelerate the wider adoption of life-saving H.E.L.P. on the road by modernizing the 71-year-old hazard warning system that is presented in today's passenger vehicles and commercial trucks."
