Mexico. BYD announced a strategic collaboration agreement with VEMO, a Mexican company dedicated to clean technologies and a pioneer in the transition to sustainable mobility in Latin America.
Jorge Vallejo, CEO of BYD Auto Mexico, said: "At BYD, we recognize their commitment to innovation and sustainability, and we are excited to join forces to jointly drive the development of sustainable mobility solutions in the region."
This agreement aims to strengthen the public EVO charging network, known as the VEMO Charging Network (VCN). The collaboration seeks to accelerate the clean mobility ecosystem in the country through the expansion of GBT-standard charging points, specially designed for BYD vehicles.
"These types of alliances are essential to promote the adoption of electric and plug-in hybrid cars in our country. With the expansion of the charging network, we can offer our users a more convenient and accessible experience to charge their vehicles when they are away from home," said Vallejo.
Roberto Rocha, co-founder and CEO of VEMO, said: "This agreement with BYD is a significant endorsement for our public charging network and represents an important step to continue driving the adoption of electric vehicles in Mexico. We are committed to facilitating access to the infrastructure needed for electromobility, thus contributing to addressing the urgent challenges we face as a society, such as climate change and air quality."
