Auto Care Association Expands Insights into Market Performance

United States. The Auto Care Association announced the launch of five new product lines, as well as the addition of what it says is a "new state-of-the-art annual unit volume metric" that is now available for 25 product groups in the demand index.

The Demand Index, hosted on the Auto Care TrendLens platform, helps aftermarket companies know how their products are performing compared to the market with the only tool that provides performance data for hard parts and other parts from point-of-sale transactions, according to the Auto Care Association.

With this update, Demand Index users can now see how many units of these products were sold during the calendar year, providing real market share value. This data is available annually at the national level. Users can expect more annual unit volumes to be released monthly for product groups in the Demand Index.

In addition, "an innovative new metric is also available: the 'Rest of the Market' data view" is available for product groups that have published annual unit volumes, the Auto Care Association added. This data will be published simultaneously with the units, segmented by region, and will be available on a monthly basis. This new update is available exclusively to Demand Index data contributors and their providers, as long as they are Demand Index subscribers.

"This feature will provide data contributors with a dynamic view of their relative sales performance and changes in their market share on a monthly basis," said Daniel Zenko, director of data innovation at Auto Care Association.

"The visibility into market performance, coupled with the granularity and segmentation provided by the Car Care Demand Index, is an incredible competitive advantage."
