Posco International inaugurates new plant in Coahuila

Posco

Mexico. The company Posco International Mexico E-Mobility inaugurated a new plant in the municipality of Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, with which it expects to generate up to 200 direct jobs for the region.

The Korean-owned company invested 100 million dollars and is mainly engaged in manufacturing to produce motor cores for electric vehicles.

The governor of Coahuila, Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, commented that this is the 63rd company to be installed in the state so far in 2023. The plant will be located in the "Chuy María" Industrial Park, in Ramos Arizpe.

"You come to consolidate the electromobility industry, to solidify this industry that began to establish itself in Coahuila a few months ago," said the governor of Coahuila, Miguel Riquelme Solís.

"Posco will have our institutional help so that they continue to grow and produce more every day and, above all, that they face the challenges imposed by electromobility in the world," said the governor.

Jeong Tak, chairman of Posco, thanked the local government for its support in consolidating this project, and asked for their collaboration so that they can continue with the investment process in the next stage of the company.

Riquelme Solís highlighted the strategic location of Saltillo and Ramos Arizpe, as well as their advantages in logistics.

For his part, the Korean ambassador, Tae Wan Heo, said that the economic relationship between Korea and Mexico is becoming more and more consolidated. In addition, he expressed his gratitude to the State of Coahuila and Ramos Arizpe for their invaluable support in the construction process of Posco.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Economy, Claudio Bres Garza, congratulated the directors of Posco for the decision to bet on Coahuila and for the announcement of the second stage of this company.

Also present at the company's inauguration were Young Hak Ko, CEO of Posco; Min Yong Noh, director Posco Mobility Solution; Kye In Lee, Executive Director; Yu Ran Seo, Chief Executive Officer; Kyung Jin Park, director of KIA Mexico; Jong Hyun Kim, Executive Director of LGM, and Marco A.
