Platinum Driveline named Miba Frictec distributor

Embrague

North America. Platinum Driveline USA has been appointed exclusive distributor of pressed sintering clutch components from Miba Frictec GmbH in the USA and Canada.

Given today's dynamic clutch designs, changes in friction technology have come a long way and now offer improved wear rates while providing smoother coupling.

Leading these changes has been Miba Frictec GmbH, a manufacturer of sintered friction materials, Platinum Driveline said.

Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Austria, Miba has become a major original equipment producer of friction material for the automotive, industrial, renewable energy and agricultural markets. The change is expected to increase the presence of Miba friction material in the U.S./Canada aftermarket.

"We are thrilled with Miba's decision to select us to continue distributing their brand," said Robert Insalaco, president and owner of Platinum Driveline.

"Being involved with Miba since the late '80s as General Manager of AMS Automotive, and seeing where their brand has evolved to this day, underscores Platinum's commitment to carrying, distributing and adding value to premium products."

Georg Marzendorfer, Business Unit Manager at Miba Frictec, added: "We are very familiar with the Platinum Driveline team, and they are perfect for us. Platinum Driveline is a well-respected supplier in the U.S. aftermarket, and we're confident they'll do a great job for us."

Going forward, Platinum and Miba are focused on making the right combination of products available at a competitive price at Platinum's distribution center in Eureka, MO, the company said.

Platinum is targeting the first week of November to have enough inventory levels to deliver order fulfillment rates of 90% or higher on Miba.

Platinum Energy LLC is also the exclusive distributor of Miba brake friction for the wind turbine business in North America.
