For his part, José Zozaya, executive president of the AMIA, pointed out that two Chinese automakers will join the Mexican automotive market. He indicated that one of them is Chirey and the next one will be made official in the following days.

On the other hand, the executive president of AMDA, Guillermo Rosales, indicated that in the first quarter of the year 315,126 units were sold.

He highlighted that the commercialization of multipurpose vehicles represented 37.6% of total sales.

In that vein, he stressed that the sale of this segment has had a market share of more than 30% during the last 24 consecutive months.

He noted that in the month of March 2023 alone, 118,801 light vehicles were sold, almost 17,000 more than in February.

Based on what was reported during the first quarter of the year, he estimated that in 2023 about 1,200,000 units will be sold in Mexico. This figure would mean an increase of 6.1%, compared to 2022.

The INA predicted that the auto parts industry will grow by 4.73% by the end of 2023. With this, 112,000 million dollars would be raised by the end of this year.
