"This is an exciting time for Hankook in the U.S. and Canadian markets as we continue to drive innovation in our commercial and passenger tire portfolios," Williams said.

In June 2022, Williams was named senior vice president of commercial and consumer sales for Hankook Tire America, adding leadership in consumer products to its sales oversight of replacement commercial products and original equipment and related services.

Williams brings more than three decades of experience in the tire industry and has a proven track record of success in executive leadership roles in sales and operations, strategic planning and profitability optimization.

"2022 has been a historic year for Hankook in the U.S., with the announcement of new investments in our Tennessee plant and the launch of iON, Hankook's line of electric vehicle tires," added the new president.

"I am proud to continue working with our teams to bring performance, innovation and quality to the driver and our partners, and I look to the future as we continue to demonstrate the value of the Hankook brand."

The company in turn promoted other executives in different positions. Jong Jin (JJ) Park was promoted to vice president of U.S. PC/LT sales, while Intae (Ted) Choi was named vice president of North American marketing strategy. Finally, Byoungjoe (Joe) Park is the new vice president of corporate governance.
