Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2023 awaits with the latest technologies

Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2023

International. Between March 16 and 18 next year, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre will showcase the opportunities arising from the electrification and digitalization boom gaining ground in the supply chain.

The transformation circulates in the Malaysian automotive market ahead of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2023. From both public policy initiatives and the private sector, the country has ambitious plans to establish greater influence at the international level.

Industrial innovation
With global trends doubling down on electromobility and connectivity, many international automotive markets are looking to seize the opportunities of Asia's supply chain promise.

From this point of view, Malaysia is a key nation in the region that is undergoing significant transformation, with the Government working to stimulate industrial advancement from the National Automotive Policy 2020 and the National Industry 4.0 Policy.

As innovation seeps into every corner of the industry, it is important that Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2023 raises the profile of the local supply chain.

The show will go the extra mile to highlight prospects in electric vehicles, the Internet of Things (IoT), and services and maintenance in dedicated areas throughout the show floor.

To illustrate, the electric vehicle area will exhibit developments in charging solutions and infrastructure, battery technologies, management systems, automation and mobility.

The Hong Kong General Electric Vehicle Business Association and the Asia Pacific Connected Vehicle Industry Association (supported by the Hong Kong Productivity and Trade Council and the Industrial Organization Support Fund) will also host a pavilion with a view to developing the electric vehicle market in Southeast Asia.

Other highlights include auto parts, manufacturing, accessories and customization, repair and diagnostics, digitalization and logistics.

New business models
With the aim of embracing the future automotive landscape, many Malaysian companies are looking for new solutions to improve operational efficiency and performance.

The fair is poised to address this need in the market by highlighting how the participation of international players in the national supply chain can equally benefit local operators.

Examples such as Geely's preemptive acquisition of Proton shares to leverage production and distribution channels demonstrate the keen interest of foreign investors operating through Malaysia to penetrate the ASEAN market.

During the show, companies will unveil the latest enabling technologies, software, smart manufacturing solutions and data management systems that have the ability to improve the country's competitiveness in the global supply chain.

TechAlliance is one such exhibitor bringing its aftermarket data solutions to the show. The company's product range supports service providers through information tools that optimize business processes and access to manufacturers' technical data for repair, maintenance and diagnostics.

Talent development
Once again, Automechanika Kuala Lumpur will offer some 15 events to delve into the opportunities and challenges surrounding the overall advancement of the country.

A key issue at the forefront of the industry discussion is how to build a workforce that can handle new technologies, business models and consumer preferences.

Therefore, the Automotive Transformation and Manufacturing Conference will engage with local workforce development by presenting the latest knowledge and best practices on innovation and smart solutions.

The discussions aim to reveal how companies can increase competitiveness and productivity by utilizing robotics, IoT, artificial intelligence technology and more.

In addition, with more vehicles on the road, the Collision Repair Training Workshop will address the advancement of aftermarket service skills.

The workshop will guide participants through practical demonstrations and theoretical discussions. Sessions will cover the most up-to-date industry knowledge related to inspection, maintenance, ADAS systems, advanced materials and electric vehicle body repair, to name a few.

Those who attend will receive an accredited certification to endorse their service center or workshop at the end of the two-day course.
