International. Webasto Go is a globally certified product and is now available in the U.S. and Canada for purchase by EV owners.

On September 10, during the Fully Charged LIVE North America 2022 fair, held in San Diego (California), Webasto Charging Systems announced the launch of Webasto Go, a mobile charger for Tier 2 electric vehicles, for owners of electric vehicles.

Eastern U.S. audiences can also experience the launch of this Webasto Group subsidiary at The Battery Show North America 2022 in Novi, Michigan, September 13-15.

The mobile charger, developed, tested and produced by Webasto, is a globally certified product and is now available in the US and Canada for EV owners to purchase at major retail stores or directly on the Webasto EV Solutions website.

According to the company, more deployments are planned for the rest of the world.

"I am excited to now be able to offer the same performance and high product quality to our end consumers that we have offered to our automotive customers," said Greg White, senior director of sales for Webasto Charging Systems Aftermarket.

"Webasto Go is a great addition to our wall boxes and overall EV product portfolio, and we look forward to launching the same safe, easy-to-use mobile chargers soon in Germany, Europe and other regions," he said.

According to the company, the Webasto Go charger is a global application that comes with region-specific certifications, such as UL, cUL, CE and more. The premium dual-voltage portable electric vehicle charger (120 V and 240 V) is designed to charge all types of electric vehicles, whether at home or on the go.

Delivering up to 32A, the Webasto Go can add more than 20 miles of range per hour of charging; enough for most EV drivers to fully charge overnight.

Webasto says the charger is robust, durable and designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions while keeping users safe from electrical hazards.

Webasto adds that its Webasto Go meets the highest safety standard with mains plug temperature monitoring and leads the industry with proprietary Webasto features such as plug-specific electrical current limitations, automatic adapter detection, and built-in temperature detection.

Webasto Go has an IP67 rating, meaning it can submerge up to three feet of water, allowing users to safely charge indoors or outdoors, no matter the weather conditions.
