International. The European Automotive Suppliers Association (CLEPA) welcomes Krieger, who succeeds Sigrid de Vries, to head the position for the past five years.
The appointment was announced on 9th June in Brussels during the association's annual General Meeting. The announcement was made by the president of CLEPA and EVP Sales & Program Management at Forvia Group, Thorsten Muschal.
Originally from Germany, Krieger has led CLEPA's government affairs department for the past four years, focusing on carbon and pollutant emission standards, the broader sustainability agenda, the digitalization of mobility, international trade and competitiveness.
"I am pleased and honored to assume the role of Secretary General at CLEPA during such a transformative time," said Krieger.
"Today, car suppliers face unique challenges, experiencing the dual transition to digitalization and climate neutrality, in an unpredictable economic environment. The role of the vehicle in society may be changing, but mobility, and specifically personal mobility, will continue to be important in the future."
"We are ready to contribute to a balanced debate on responsibilities, but also on the mobility needs of society," concluded the new secretary-general.
