7 keys to good car maintenance

mantenimiento autos

Mexico. The good maintenance of your car will depend largely on the services and care they give it, but there are also many actions that drivers can do to take care of it. Thinking about it, Grupo Surman, with more than 35 years and 106 dealerships in Mexico, gives 7 maintenance tips for your car with which you can extend the life of your vehicle.

Air conditioning review: It is quite common that, with the passage of time, the air conditioning of your vehicle suffers and stops working as it should, this may be because it has been damaged or simply that the load has been worn. That is why, before you leave a trip check its correct operation, in case you detect that it cools very little you should take a look under the hood to see if the pipes are visually fine. In some cases, problems with the air conditioning are solved with a recharge.

Check the battery: Although there are exceptions for batteries that last for many years, the truth is that it is a component that has a limited useful life. It is necessary to take care that the terminals are well fixed, that there are no leaks of liquid and that it is at the necessary level. Remember that you must change it from time to time.

The shock absorbers provide driving comfort and represent a guarantee of safety as they help control the vehicle at high speeds and in risky situations. In fact, it is considered one of the three essential components of the so-called "safety triangle", along with tires and brakes. It is best to carry out periodic reviews every 20,000 kilometers.

Pay attention to the tires: The high temperatures that are going to occur these months can have a negative effect on the tires. Therefore, it is very important to take into account the pressure recommended by the manufacturer and check it periodically to detect if any wheel has lost air suspiciously. Remember that being the "nexus" between the car and the ground, its role in safety and functionality is paramount.

Check the brakes: it is vital to check that the brakes work correctly since it is dangerous to face a trip if the brakes of your vehicle are not working 100%. Therefore, it is very important that this system is reviewed by a specialist at least once a year. It is not easy to detect it, since the brake components are deteriorating little by little and, unless the difference is very marked (it goes to one side, take time to "react", noises, squeaks, etc.) in which case the passage through the agency must be immediate.

In the rainy season the windshield is your best ally: It is common that in these months there are some rains and that is why you should check that the wiper blades are in good condition and that they work correctly. Yes, they do not sweep well and do not evacuate water, hail or snow correctly, they will prevent vision to our eyes. The cost of replacing a brush is very low so, if you detect that one is not quite right, the most suitable thing is to change it.

Take it to service: It is also important to take your car to the agency so that they can inspect it thoroughly and with it, restore the good condition of the vehicle. But that's not all, plus, if you have a problem that you can't fix, they'll be able to help you and make your car run optimally.
