Hunter Engineering Launches New Heavy-Duty Pit Shelving

Hunter Engineering

Latin America. Hunter Engineering introduced a series of heavy-duty pit racks designed to service a wide variety of trucks, and particularly larger vehicles, with remarkable ease and speed.

The new alignment pit racks offer easy installation for the workshop owner and easy access for technicians. The P490HD provides maximum flexibility when adapting to a wide variety of vehicles. Its compact 226-inch track allows for any number of rear axles on the concrete platform, with the only size restriction that fits in the workshop.

The new P491HD features a 360-inch track for longer cab vehicles, with rear axle adjustments made on sliding plates.

The P490 and P491 are perfect solutions for extended vehicles, such as coaches, whose length and little free space often prevents them from accessing a traditional roof rack.

The series was specifically designed to get all sizes of trucks or light vehicles in and off the shelf and back into service as quickly as possible. Both models can accommodate 35,000 pounds, with 30-inch-wide tracks and built-in slide plates and turn plates. Versions that include Hunter's PowerSlide functionality are also available.

The 30-inch moat allows technicians to move around the vehicle without difficulty. Unlike many of the current pit racks, no pre-installation kits are required for the P49HD series. Wells are easy to pour, including an optional 58-inch deeper well for complete serviceability at the bottom.

The new racks will also accept many accessories from Hunter's 494 heavy-duty four-post elevator, including jacks.

"Today, we all feel the pain of limitations in freight transportation," said Pete Liebetreu, Hunter's vice president of marketing. "That creates a corresponding need for a very fast and efficient service. The 490 and 491 are convenient, fast and efficient options for our customers to provide exactly that."
