International. Sony unveiled a prototype SUV that can be remotely connected to a PlayStation console, as it announced it is creating a new company to enter the electric vehicle market.
The Vision-S is full of internal and external sensors and serves Sony to test its autonomous driving technologies, that is, without a driver. This vehicle uses the same EV/cloud platform as the prototype (VISION-S 01), which is being tested on public roads.
As argued by the group known for its electronic devices, televisions or its video game consoles "by offering entertainment experiences using the large interior space and the variations of a 7-seater, this new prototype, together with VISION-S 01, will promote the adaptation of a wide variety of lifestyles within a society where values are increasingly diversified."
Notably, Sony has begun testing the VISION-S prototype in Frankfurt, Germany, to achieve high-quality on-road performance, which is essential to completing the vehicle's goal of delivering a deeply inspiring experience on wheels.
"The development will focus on harnessing the acceleration performance and silence of electric vehicles. Sony will also seek to create a comfortable cabin space while ensuring stable driving at high speeds in various conditions," the company said.
