Dual Borgstena will invest US$15 million in new plant in Monclova and will generate 1,000 jobs

Mexico. The Korean company Dual Borgstena announced an investment of 15 million dollars for the construction of a new plant in the Libramiento Norte Industrial Park in Monclova, Coahuila.

The plant is expected to start operations in September 2025 and reach full capacity in January 2026.

This new industrial complex will generate 300 jobs in its initial phase, with the projection of reaching 1,000 jobs by 2027. The plant will supply key markets such as the United States, Ramos Arizpe and Monterrey, consolidating Monclova as a strategic point for the automotive industry.

Dual Borgstena is a global supplier specializing in the design and manufacture of textiles and interior coatings for vehicles. The decision to establish itself in Monclova responds to the growing demand of the sector and the competitive infrastructure of the region.

The new plant will have an area of 14,000 square meters, which will allow large-scale production to serve its customers in North America. Although the company did not specify the exact amount of annual production, the operation is expected to reach full capacity in January 2026.

Government and businessmen lay the first stone

The ceremonial act of laying the first stone was led by the governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez, and the mayor of Monclova, Carlos Villarreal, together with the directors of the company, Ian Hwe Cho and Yong Jin Lee, and the executive director of the Libramiento Norte Industrial Park, Roberto Garza Vázquez.

During the event, Mayor Villarreal stressed that the arrival of Dual Borgstena is the result of a management initiated during his campaign and that today it is materialized thanks to the support of the governor and the Secretary of Economy, Luis Olivares.

"Security is a fundamental pillar for companies to continue betting on Monclova. I thank Governor Manolo Jiménez for his commitment and for promoting these investments that generate development and employment. I also recognize the joint work with businessman Roberto Garza, as well as the trust of investors Ian Hwe and Yong Jin Lee. Without a doubt, this plant will bring a positive impact for our city," said the mayor.

The executive director of the Libramiento Norte Industrial Park, Roberto Garza Vázquez, reported that two companies in the automotive sector – one of Korean origin and the other German – are interested in establishing themselves in Coahuila. Both are expected to define their decision by mid-2025, which would further reinforce the growth of the sector in the region.

With the arrival of Dual Borgstena and the possible installation of new companies, Monclova is consolidated as a development pole for the automotive industry, promoting the generation of jobs and strengthening its local economy.
