United States. TOPDON US announced a partnership with Vehicles for Change (VFC) to provide training and transportation to people in vulnerable situations.
Through its TOPUP initiative, TOPDON will donate professional diagnostic equipment to three training centers operated by VFC, where students involved in the justice system will be trained to obtain the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification.
"Vehicles for Change is transforming lives by providing access to transportation and job opportunities in the automotive industry," said Chad Schnitz, vice president of TOPDON USA. "Our TOPUP initiative seeks to equip students with the tools they need to build successful careers, and this collaboration reinforces that commitment."
Training and transportation to change lives
Vehicles for Change operates the Full Circle Auto Training Center, a mechanic shop open to the public where certified technicians supervise trainees. There, people seeking to reintegrate into society work in vehicle repair, which allows them to obtain certifications and access stable jobs.
Martin Schwartz, president of VFC, highlighted the importance of the program: "Many low-income families face daily difficulties due to a lack of reliable transportation. Our mission is to offer them a solution while training people in vulnerable situations to access a meaningful career."
TOPDON will donate key tools for the training workshops, including:
- V2200 Peak Amp Jump Starter, Power Bank and Flashlight.
- Tornado3000 30A Smart Charger and Power Supply 12V/24V.
- BT600 12V Battery and 12V/24V System Tester with integrated printer.
- Phoenix Lite 3, professional-grade scanning tool with advanced features.
A real impact on the community
Since 1999, Vehicles for Change has delivered more than 8,000 vehicles to low-income families, benefiting more than 28,000 people. In addition, it trains people who have been in prison to obtain ASE certification and achieve job stability.
Meanwhile, TOPDON's TOP-UP program, introduced in the U.S. in 2022, supports community colleges and technical schools with the goal of strengthening the automotive workforce.
