MANN+HUMMEL simplifies filter change with a patented tool

International. This tool makes it easier to disassemble the fuel filter and improves the efficiency of separating particles and water.

The company MANN+HUMMEL has presented an innovative tool for the disassembly of its fuel filter MANN-FILTER PU 10 023/1 z KIT, designed for trucks such as the Ford Ranger. This patented tool promises to optimize maintenance with faster, cleaner and more efficient handling.

According to Frank Bartel, the company's product manager for fuel filters, "Efficient, fast and clean – this is how the improved handling of the PU 10 023/1 z KIT can be summed up." The disassembly tool, included in each filter, eliminates the need for pliers or other tools, which complicated the changeover process.

The filter stands out for its particle-holding capacity, removing more than 96% of particles as small as four micrometers, 25 times smaller than a human hair. In addition, its three-stage system achieves a water separation of more than 95%, a crucial aspect for modern Common Rail injection systems, which require high-purity fuels.

  • First stage: Filters out solid impurities from diesel.
  • Second stage: A coalescing fleece groups smaller water droplets together.
  • Third stage: A water-repellent mesh prevents water from reaching the injection system.

This design ensures exceptional mechanical strength, even under extreme conditions such as fuel freezing.

The filter is also compatible with standard diesel, biodiesel, and synthetic fuels such as hydrogenated vegetable oils (HVO), thanks to its high-strength, quality-certified sealing materials.

MANN+HUMMEL has already started series production of the filter for a leading vehicle manufacturer. Now, it is available in the independent auto parts market as PU 10 023/1 z KIT, consolidating itself as an original quality option for Ford Ranger trucks and other models.

With more than 1,200 researchers working on innovations, MANN+HUMMEL reinforces its commitment to cutting-edge filtration solutions to meet the current and future demands of its customers.
