Mexico. The South Korean company Doowon Refrigeration has marked a milestone with the inauguration of its first plant in Mexico, located in Apodaca, Nuevo León.
The South Korean company, which specializes in the production of cooling systems for the automotive industry, has invested 18 million dollars in this new facility, which will create 100 new direct jobs in the region.
The plant will be dedicated to the manufacture of advanced cooling systems, including automotive air intake systems, engine air filters, hoses, and air conditioning piping, consolidating Doowon as a key supplier within the automotive supply chain in Mexico. In addition, the company projects an additional investment of 25 million dollars by 2025.
During the inauguration ceremony, Emmanuel Loo, head of office of the Ministry of Economy of Nuevo León, highlighted the importance of this investment: "Doowon's presence in Nuevo León reinforces our position as a pole of attraction for world-class companies in the automotive industry. These investments are what we need to continue leading in innovation and development," said Loo.
Headquartered in Seoul, it already has a strong international presence, with plants in China, India and Brazil, in addition to its network of seven facilities in South Korea. Doowon's arrival in Nuevo León reinforces the state's commitment to attract strategic investments that boost its economic development and leadership in the automotive sector.
The event was attended by authorities such as Ip Kyo Hong, president of Doowon Refrigeration Mexico; Micaela Seok, administrator of Doowon Mexico; and César Garza, municipal president of Apodaca, who underscored the positive impact of this investment on the local economy and the industrial competitiveness of the state.
With this investment, Doowon Refrigeration not only reinforces its presence in the global market, but also contributes to the strengthening of the automotive ecosystem in Mexico, positioning Nuevo León as a benchmark in the sector.
