Mexico. In order to follow up on the rules of origin of environmental impact and labor requirements, the National Agency of Suppliers of the Automotive Sector (Anapsa) presented the USMCA Seal.
This strategy aims to provide certainty and security to national shipowners and suppliers. This was pointed out by Jorge Prado, head of Anapsa.
"This will help meet the quality standards in the sector," he said.
Companies seeking to obtain this seal will be evaluated in production processes, lines of work, as well as their current situation before the Treasury.
Regarding the certification obtained, it was added that it is based on the specifications and requirements issued by the main shipowners in the United States, Mexico and Canada. This is based on the free trade agreement established in the USMCA.
According to Jorge Prado, the companies that manage to obtain the seal will be included in the organization's list of reliable companies. This may be reviewed by the purchasing departments of light and past vehicles.
For her part, Elisa Crespo, president of Clúster Metropolitano, said that this certification will support the sector to improve and promote competition in the country.
"This distinction will also help the expansion and growth of companies," said the president of the Automotive Cluster of the State of Mexico.
According to Jorge Prado, accreditation can be achieved by Tier 1, 2 and 3 companies. This is with the intention of covering the maximum of the spillover that exists in the national sector.
Finally, it was explained that, in the first instance, the application of the Seal will be directed to companies located in Mexico City, State of Mexico and Hidalgo.
