Latin America. In conversation with Aftermarket International, Milagros Méndez, CEO of Ramco Automotive, a sensor specialist, shares her perspective on the challenges of her company and the auto parts sector in Latin America.
Faced with the first, the entrepreneur of this spare parts company, based in Miami, points out that one of her biggest challenges is to penetrate the American market and make alliances with other American companies to establish their product in this market.
Milagros, who 20 years ago incorporated Ramco after becoming one of the main suppliers of the largest distributors in his native Venezuela, emphasizes that during this time the brand has been selected by large companies to be part of its various suppliers.
On the other hand, it highlights that although the world economy, and therefore that of the different countries of Latin America, has been depressed by different restrictions, the automotive industry has been sustained, even without the expected growth.
She is confident in the region's growth potential, despite the political and economic threats that she believes have hovered over during this time.
Finally, Milagros, recognized earlier this year for being part of the list of the 31 Women at the Wheel (Women at the Wheel) of the magazine Aftermarket News, reaffirms that it is not easy to stand out in a predominantly male industry, "and that is a very strong challenge and I think we have achieved many things as women in the industry."
Among them, it highlights the certifications achieved such as those of LDB, SBE-G&S, MWBE, WOSB and WBENC, as well as becoming a member of ACES & PIES, which allows you to show your products in your online catalogs.
