General Motors

United States. General Motors (GM) has recognized BASF as Supplier of the Year 2022 during its 31st annual Supplier of the Year event, held in San Antonio, Texas, USA.

The GM Supplier of the Year award recognizes global suppliers who distinguish themselves by exceeding GM's requirements and providing innovative technologies with some of the highest qualities in the automotive industry. This is the 16th time BASF has received this award.

"We are honored that our great strategic partner, General Motors, has bestowed this award on us," said Jeffrey Jones, BASF vice president for Automotive Paints OEM and Key Account Manager for GM.

Jones added, "It reflects decades of collaboration and our strong partnership with GM to create solutions for a sustainable future."

Fabian Garcia, senior manager of BASF's Automotive Paints division, said: "BASF is proud to be awarded again by General Motors. In Argentina, we have been working together for more than 20 years, providing innovative and sustainable solutions to contribute to the success of their vehicles."

Each year, a global, multidisciplinary GM team selects suppliers of the year based on their performance in criteria such as product purchasing, global purchasing and manufacturing services, customer service, aftermarket and logistics.

"We are thrilled to recognize these excellent suppliers after another difficult year in the automotive industry," said Jeff Morrison, GM vice president of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain.

At the same time, Morrison added, "They overcame countless obstacles and exemplified what it's like to have endurance, ingenuity and decisiveness. In addition, these suppliers demonstrated their commitment to sustainable innovation and advancing advanced solutions in collaboration with the GM team."

The award given to BASF recognizes the effort to provide GM with products of the highest quality and exceptional service.

"BASF is culturally aligned with GM and supports it on its path to zero accidents, zero emissions and zero traffic jams," Jones said.

In total, 121 suppliers were recognized on the spot. Together, the awarded suppliers represented 17 countries.
