The organizers of Automechanika Shanghai – Shenzhen Edition will pause the show, originally scheduled for December 20-23, 2022, while pandemic-related prevention measures are consolidated across the country.
The decision comes in view of ensuring greater participation in the site to generate more valuable experiences for exhibitors and visitors alike. New arrangements for the 17th edition will be announced in due course.
Fiona Chiew, Deputy Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt (HK), said: "We need to balance the well-being of those travelling to the fair with the industry's expectations for in-person business meetings."
"Our priority is to create the right conditions to stimulate trade for the long-term sustainable development of the automotive industry. Therefore, after discussions with stakeholders, we agreed that holding the show at a later date will produce more fruitful results for the local and foreign automotive community," he added.
Li Zhang, general manager of China National Machinery Industry International, said, "On behalf of the organizers, I would like to thank all our customers for their support and understanding."
