First Mexican Congress of Automotive Parts is ready

Congreso Mexicano de Repuestos Automotrices

Latin America. The automotive parts sector in Mexico has a value greater than 28,000 million dollars and is composed of a value chain between manufacturers, wholesale distributors, counters and workshops that together employ more than 850,000 specialists in the sector.

The National Auto Parts Industry (INA), the Association of Representatives, Importers and Distributors of Automotive Parts and Accessories (ARIDRA) and PIFA Consulting Group prepare the First Mexican Congress of Automotive Parts. This will be held on March 17, 2023 at the Hacienda de Los Morales in Mexico City.

The event aims to know and discuss the most relevant issues that concern the spare parts sector in Mexico and its alternative solutions, mainly because of the moments that businesses in the country are going through.

"The high dynamism that this sector has in its different processes, requires constant updating to ensure its growth and stay current through the technological tools available. Likewise, it requires knowledge from specialist leaders, the environments and solutions to the challenges that this high dynamic offers, "said the president of ARIDRA, Antonio López.

Antonio López added that the supply chain originates from the auto parts manufacturer, marketer and installer. "The effort of paying the three of us in this event is to leave a flag planted to make it an annual event for those who want to know what happens in the aftermarket," he said.

For his part, the general director of INA, Alberto Bustamante, said that the aftermarket sector in the country is made up of 240 economic units, of which 72% are repair, tinsmithing and painting establishments, and 28% wholesale and retail points of sale of spare parts.

Bustamante stressed the importance of this congress, since there are more than 300 auto parts manufacturing plants that supply the Mexican vehicle fleet of approximately 37 million units with an average age of 15 years and that will require more and more parts.

"The aftermarket is expected to exceed 30,000 million dollars in the next two years, so actions must be defined that strengthen the supply chain. There are 70 million users connected to the internet of legal age, making e-commerce an important channel for the sale of vehicles," he said.

The three organizations are committed to the spare parts sector in Mexico to create, disseminate knowledge and transfer information that favors the growth of business in the sector and generates a climate of unity among its different actors.
