The market for advanced driver assistance systems will reach 655 million units by 2030

United States. The ADAS market will reach 655 million units by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.9%, according to a report by MarketsandMarkets.

The growth of this sector is driven by the increase in demand for electric and autonomous vehicles, as well as constant innovation in automotive connectivity technologies.

One of the key findings of the study is that the battery electric vehicle (BEV) segment will be the fastest-growing segment within the ADAS market. Governments in countries such as India, China, the United States and several European nations have implemented subsidies to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, which has prompted manufacturers such as Tesla, BMW, BYD, Mercedes-Benz and Audi to integrate more driver-assistance features into their models.

Furthermore, the report highlights that the application software segment will witness rapid expansion due to the increasing adoption of ADAS-equipped vehicles and the demand for connected technologies. Companies such as Honda, Toyota, BYD, and MG Motor have developed functionalities such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and automatic emergency braking, increasing the need for advanced software.

In terms of regional market, Europe is positioned as the region with the largest share in the ADAS industry, while in North America, the United States leads the sector. The high demand for vehicles with advanced technology, such as forward collision warning and parking assist, has made the U.S. a key market for ADAS expansion.

Companies dominating the ADAS market include Robert Bosch GmbH (Germany), Continental AG (Germany), ZF Friedrichshafen (Germany), Denso (Japan), and Magna International (Canada). These companies continue to develop new solutions to improve safety and the driving experience.

Recently, ZF Friedrichshafen AG presented "OnLaneALERT", a new front camera module for lane departure warning in commercial vehicles. For its part, Robert Bosch GmbH announced an alliance with Microsoft to investigate the integration of generative artificial intelligence in automated driving systems.

The report concludes that the trend towards electric and autonomous mobility will continue to drive demand for ADAS in the coming years, with accelerated growth in key markets globally.
