Kawasaki transforms the rider experience with Cerence's AI assistant

International. Kawasaki Motors partners with Cerence to offer a revolutionary voice-activated artificial intelligence assistant on its motorcycles, specially designed to enhance the rider experience and reduce distractions on the road.

Cerence Inc., a provider of artificial intelligence in mobility, announced its collaboration with Kawasaki Motors, Ltd., a partnership that promises to transform the user experience on Kawasaki motorcycles. Integrating Cerence Ride technology, Kawasaki will allow riders to access navigation, vehicle controls and cloud applications through an intuitive voice assistant adapted to the demands of the two-wheeled market.

The rise of motorcycles in response to high fuel prices and traffic in large cities has driven the demand for technologies that offer real-time information while riding. Kawasaki is responding to this trend by incorporating Cerence Ride, which allows riders to change the radio station, check vehicle status and use navigation tools without taking their eyes off the road, thus optimizing every ride.

"The two-wheeled industry is ripe for user experience innovations, and Kawasaki is leading the way with cutting-edge technology that makes riding more enjoyable and safer," said Takashi Nakamura, senior planning manager, Kawasaki Motors. "Cerence offers us a comprehensive solution, designed for this market, and we believe this technology will significantly improve the experience for our motorcyclists."

Cerence Ride's voice assistant is compatible with Android and iOS, and can be integrated into both smartphones and motorcycle dashboards. With this pre-integrated solution and the support of Cerence's professional services, Kawasaki ensures a rapid market launch of these functionalities.

Nils Schanz, Cerence's Executive Vice President of Product and Technology, said: "With the increase in motorcycles on the road, we see a great opportunity to provide reliable access to real-time information. This technology, which has already had a significant impact on the automotive sector, now expands its benefits to the two-wheeled sector."

Kawasaki plans to launch these innovative features in select markets and for licensed users in select countries.
