International. Groupe Renault and SUEZ are intensifying their long-term partnership, covering metal recycling and end-of-life vehicle recovery, with strategic agreements aimed at supporting the green transition in the automotive sector.
Together, Groupe Renault and SUEZ, a world leader in recycling and waste recovery, will put The Future Is NEUTRAL in a position to accelerate its expansion and be among the benchmarks of the circular economy in the automotive industry.
"SUEZ's decision to join us in The Future Is NEUTRAL is further evidence that this model was the right move. Our joint investment will enable us to accelerate to provide an open circular economy platform that meets the needs of all automotive industry players in growing activities. We are doing this by strengthening existing operations and creating new closed-loop, car-to-car recycling solutions," says Luca de Meo, CEO of Groupe Renault.
"By investing in The Future Is NEUTRAL together with the Renault Group, SUEZ is positioning itself more strongly to support automotive industry players in their green transition. Securing the supply of secondary raw materials is one of the key challenges that the automotive sector must address in the coming years. Our expertise in recycling and waste recovery will allow us to support the transformation of the sector as it transitions towards greater circularity and reduce its dependence on virgin raw materials," explains Sabrina Soussan, President and CEO of SUEZ.
Groupe Renault and SUEZ are bringing together their technical expertise and industrial capabilities within The Future Is NEUTRAL to build the new value chain in the circular economy from car to car. It aims to work with the various players in the sector to reduce their impact on natural resources, anticipate regulatory developments and provide new sources of recycled materials and parts.
Renault will contribute:
- Its operation that covers the entire automotive value chain and the life cycle of the vehicle (design, useful life and end of life).
- Its expertise in automotive eco-design and the skills of its skilled and motivated teams to meet this challenge.
- The industrial capabilities at its Refactory in Flins (France), the first circular economy base in Europe specialized in mobility, which operates in various fields, including vehicle refurbishment, parts remanufacturing and the rehabilitation of industrial robots.
SUEZ will provide:
- Their in-depth knowledge of automotive recycling from the top (car manufacturers and equipment manufacturers) to the bottom (steel producers and foundries).
- Its experience in the management of automotive waste (collection, massification, classification and recovery of materials).
- Its industrial-scale ability to produce consistent streams of recycled raw materials for its customers.
