United States. MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers announced the appointment of Brendan Morris as the new chair of the Brake Manufacturers Council.
Morris, currently vice president of sales at GRI Engineering, a MAT Holdings company, will succeed John Bennett, CEO of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Detroit, Inc.
"We are currently facing an unprecedented period in the history of aftermarket braking," Morris said. "The importance of BMC is now more evident than ever. It serves as a platform where industry professionals can collaborate to share knowledge about market challenges and come together to address regulations. This allows us to overcome the obstacles that affect our business and products, and ultimately deliver superior results."
Morris brings more than two decades of experience in the automotive and aftermarket brake industries. The organization expects his leadership to guide BMC through critical developments in industry standards, regulatory challenges, and technological advancements.
"We are incredibly grateful to John Bennett for his visionary leadership and commitment to excellence," said Ben Brucato, vice president of member engagement at MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. "We are confident that Brendan will continue this legacy of proactive leadership and innovation to advance the interests of our members and the industry as a whole."
Morris' appointment is effective immediately and he will chair his first BMC meeting next November during AAPEX. The board looks forward to his leadership during a time of many opportunities and challenges in the automotive aftermarket sector.
