The 22-3 issue of Aftermarket International is now online!

Latin America. The 22-3 issue provides lessons from the Mexican experience for the promotion of the auto parts trade in Latin America. See here the Spanish and English versions.

The main article of this edition reflects that, although Latin America has common challenges in terms of installed capacity and technical training, Mexican leadership in production and export matters can provide clues for the growth of the industry in the region.

For this we talked, among others, with Francia Hernández, director of the Foreign Trade office of the Association of the Automotive Sector and its Parts of Colombia (Asopartes), who commented on the customs aspect on the elimination of technical obstacles for the opening of cross-border conditions.

Likewise, Gerardo Medina-Carrillo, who conducted research on the commercialization of auto parts in Mexico, told us about the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of the sector in this country.

In this edition we also commemorate the 90 years of history of SIDEM, an expert company in the automotive sector originally from Belgium, but during all this time it has reached different markets until reaching America.

Iwan Loewen, Business Development Manager for North and South America of the company, tells us about the borders that are opening up and the certifications that have accompanied the sustained growth of the company, in particular with the acquisition of the Verfaille family 40 years ago.

In a next, more technical article, Carlos Panzieri, technical consultant at Emmetec & Orpav, reviews the electric power steering (EPS) of the pumps of the A-Class model of the first-generation Mercedes Benz: the W-168, introduced in 1997.

Finally, in this issue we exalt within our Professional of the Month section the life of Milagros Méndez, CEO of Ramco Automotive, who was the only Latin American recognized in the recent list of the 31 Women at the Wheel (Women at the Wheel) of the magazine Aftermarket News.

Find there also the most outstanding news of the industry, both in our Spanish and English versions.
