Moto Parts

Mexico. The National Auto Parts Industry (INA) reported that Mexico has strengthened as a producer of components for motorcycles, which has achieved a reduction of about 22% in imports for this sector by boosting the national industry.

The INA mentioned that, in the last ten years, imports of auto parts for motorcycles have increased by 217%. The seats, tire cameras, headlights, turn signals and chassis are the top five auto parts that Mexico imports the most in the world, which represents an opportunity for the country.

The association explained that China is Mexico's main partner in this sector, representing about one in eight of the imports of motorcycle components in the country; followed by India, with 8%; and the United States, with 6% respectively.

During 2022, approximately 1.2 million motorcycles were sold in Mexico, which represents a great opportunity to meet the demand in the national supply chain and in the aftermarket.
