"Vehicle repairs would not be possible without thousands of suppliers"

Expo Cesvi 2022

Latin America. Expo Cesvi 2022 celebrated the reunion after two years of the automotive aftermarket sector: repair, repainting and maintenance of cars, heavy transport and motorcycles.

Between August 18 and 20, manufacturers and distributors met in the Maya 1 and 2 rooms of the WTC International Exhibition and Convention Center in Mexico City.

For three days, they had the opportunity to learn about the news of more than 70 exhibitors who offer solutions to owners, managers and / or managers, technical staff and all those who work or provide services for workshops, automotive agencies and vehicle fleets.

The directors of the Center for Experimentation and Road Safety (Cesvi) Mexico rescued the technological character acquired by the industry, with a firm process of reinvention. As an example, they highlighted the greater use of hybrid and electric cars, systems for the administration and management of the workshop, intelligent paints, tools with artificial intelligence and digital equipment.

The general director of Cesvi Mexico, Augusto Bagase, highlighted this as "the great event of the automotive repair industry in Mexico, unique of its kind, not only in our country but also in Latin America for its degree of specialization, call and free access".

On the other hand, he emphasized that the pandemic brought forward the transition to the digital age.

"Derived from the pandemic, in this sector an ecosystem has been generated designed to automate and simplify the repair of damaged cars and seek to return them to their original condition," said Bagase.

On the other hand, the president of the Board of Directors of Cesvi Mexico, Enrique Enríquez, indicated that insurance companies in Mexico attend each year more than three and a half million claims, between collisions, thefts and damages of all kinds, of which half are vehicles with collisions.

For this reason, he pointed out that the presence of mechanical workshops, tinsmithing, painting, spare parts, tires, specialists in air conditioning, restoration of clothing and suspensions, among others, is fundamental for this sector in Mexico.

"The repairs and rehabilitations of the vehicles would not be possible without the active participation of thousands of suppliers throughout the country," Enriquez concluded.

He then highlighted the role that Cesvi has played in the growth of this industry in the Central American country.

Expo Cesvi featured a series of activities parallel to the exhibition floor such as seminars, talks, demonstrations and activations, including the Seventh Cycle of Road Safety Conferences.
