The low level of activity registered between January and April of this year led to a fall of 5.9% in the sector compared to the same period last year. However, the main segments of the auto parts business showed positive trends.
Vehicle production increased by 25.5% during the first four months of this year compared to the same period in 2021. Likewise, exports rose by 1.3% year-on-year and the replacement market increased by 17.9% as well, considering the sale of fuel as an approximate indicator of the level of activity.
This was pointed out in its latest report by the Association of Argentine Component Factories (AFAC), despite indicating that compared to March, in April there was a slight fall, as well as the industry as a whole and the other items related to the sectoral complex, which stood at 1.1%.
"It will be necessary to monitor the evolution of the conflict with the union of the tire sector and the operation for payments of inputs abroad, issues that have a direct effect on the entire automotive value chain," said AFAC.
