It consists of metal fixing plates with a rubber block in between, which acts as a cushion or insulation for shocks. The rubber part absorbs impacts and vibrations from the metal plates connected to the rubber bolt, frame and engine block.
By using this insulation design, the driver and passengers inside the car are not affected by all the shaking, noise, and vibration transfer that takes place while the engine is running.
Without the mounts, engine vibration and movement would make driving extremely uncomfortable.
